A dispute over a homecoming event resulted in a woman’s father making threatening statements, according to Hoschton police.
An 18-year-old man told police that his girlfriend, who lives in Hoschton, received a phone call from her father in Texas. The father was upset that his daughter selected her grandfather to participate in a homecoming event, according to an incident report.
The father yelled and cursed at his daughter on the phone. He then left several messages on the boyfriend’s voice mail, saying he could come to Georgia in 12 hours and kill him, police said. Several people in a house heard the phone calls, when the boyfriend put the father on speakerphone.
The boyfriend’s father then called the father in Texas, who said he would come to Jackson County to kill both the father and the boyfriend, according to an incident report.
A Hoschton officer told the boyfriend about the magistrate court process and temporary protective orders.
